Baby Blanket—Beginner:This technique is so versatile! You can use it for baby blankets, pet blankets, throws, placemats, table runners . . . endless possibilities. A great chance to practice all the basics: seam allowances, straight lines, pivoting and more. (Sewing 101 prerequisite required.)
Box Cushion—Advanced Beginner:One of the most common and versatile types of cushion. Use on dining chairs, window seats, patio furniture and more! Lots of tricks to learn including, piping, side panels, zipper placement, etc. (Pillows II prerequisite!)
Basic Curtains—Beginner:Some of the easiest sewing you can do for yourself. Make a fun new (unlined) shower curtain and learn all the basics to curtain making. We'll cover how to measure correctly, figure out yardage, hemming and rod pocket/envelope heading construction. (Sewing 101 prerequisite required.)
Christmas Stocking—Beginner:Back for the season, this little cutie is a great gift - and so fun to personalize. Work on understanding commercial patters, linings and sewing curves.
Duvet Cover w/Shams—Advanced Beginner:A lot of requests for this one . . . a quick delight. In this class we'll take fabric, sheets, coverlets or any other large amount of yardage and create a duvet cover and 2 pillow shams. Learn the tricks for sewing with lots of yardage, different closures (we'll be using snap tape) and perfect crisp flanges. (Materials not included, but available at TNS.) SampleUpholstery Project - Ottoman—Beginner:This fun, simple project is going to show you a LOT about how upholstery works. Starting with a wood frame, we will construct the underpinnings for a soft cushy ottoman, then cover it with your favorite fabric - piping included! You will also have a choice of legs. **Please note: sewing skills are needed for this project, so 101 (or similar) is a prerequisite.**
Pillows II—Advanced Beginner:Now that you've gotten the basics down with 101, let's add trim! This class will cover how to make you're own piping and apply it to a knife edge pillow (same as 101 pillow). We'll also make a simple, fun bolster.
