The Needle Shop is a school and fabric store designed for the Do-It-Yourself-er in all of us! Our fabric store boasts the most unique designers not available in chain stores. Our classes focus on fashion and interior sewing, upholstery, hand embroidery and screen printing.

Whether you're just starting or an old pro, you're sure to discover new ideas to take home and experiment with. It's all about creative expression and trusting your instincts at TNS; building on your own natural abilities and believing that if you can dream it, you can create it!

Rachel EppersonRachel Epperson (owner/instructor) holds a degree in Fashion Design and has been sewing for 27 years. She has worked in many fields including fashion and interior design, upholstery, and carpentry. Having taught for a similar studio in San Francisco, she discovered a great love for teaching. She started The Needle Shop as a way to share her skills and connect with other creative people.

Caitlin JungAlison Simonian is an accessory designer with a love for color, shape and function. Having got a taste for sewing at her Grandmother's treadle sewing machine she's been sewing the twenty years since. The fun and excitement of taking an idea from concept to finished product keeps her coming back to sewing as creative outlet and play. See her accessories at www.missalison.com

Cheeri Ong caught the sewing bug by taking a bunch of classes on the TNS menu. Whimsical fabric prints make her giddy, and the first question that comes to mind when looking at fabric is, "Will this look good as a bag?" However, she continues to hone her sewing skills at TNS, and is interested in learning more about all things DIY.

Krissy Callahan
finally found a way to channel her love for puffy paint and iron-on transfers. She began screen printing three and a half years ago. Having learned that not much can compete with the thrill of a successful print and inspired by bold patterns, vibrant colors and a hand drawn aesthetic, Krissy created Earth Cadets, a company committed to screen printing organic and recycled products. www.earthcadets.com

Starting as a kid, Rachel Larsen has developed a life long love of sewing. She finds inspiration in the bold colors of The Needle Shop and loves to create bags and accessories. She especially enjoys sharing her knowledge and watching students discover their own creative spark.
